First of all, I am a complete sugar addict as well as a coffee lover! I have to let go of the caffeine so I am moving away from coffee. I found this to try and so far I am not disappointed.
I got the sample pack because - well, duh! Try all the flavors! This morning I started with the Double Chocolate (remember, sugar addict). I read all the reviews and decided that since I didn't have the french press and results were not as good with a coffee maker, I did the boil method. I did 3 tbsp of double chocolate and 12 oz of water. Brought to a boil and let it sit on low for 10 minutes and poured through a fine mesh strainer.
The amazing aroma was almost too much to anticipate! But with a bit of patience (mom would be proud) it was ready. I tasted it as is. I wanted to see what my starting point would be. It's flavor was really smooth and creamy. There was a little bitterness to it so I started by adding a pinch of Pink Himalayan Salt. Once I got the bitterness under control I needed to adjust my sweetness level. I use Monk Fruit as it doesn't spike the Glycemic Index. I added little by little and ended up with a total of 3 teaspoons. I also added a splash of Vanilla and was quite pleased with my morning treat!
I cannot wait to see what blends I can create!
