Coca River, Ecuador. The coca river winds through a rainforest paradise in southern Ecuador until it feeds into the expansive Amazon river. Nearby, a village called Vilcabamba is famous for the longevity of its people, many living more than a century. Grown in the black soil of this rainforest valley, the Ecuadorian cacao bean produces the boldest and chocolatiest Crio Bru, with notes of green banana and blackberries.

Can't drink coffee any longer - love this to start my morning!

For years, coffee was my morning ritual, but unfortunately, I can no longer drink coffee. Crio Bru Ecuador French Roast is NOT coffee, but it IS delightful! I make it in a thermos-type French press so it stays hot. It is more satisfying to me than tea. Thank you for this product!

Not Strong Enough but Okay for the Afternoon

If you are used to strong coffee as in expresso, pass on this one. This one has a nice but way too mild flavor. It may be enjoyable for later in the day but not to get your day going if you like to start your day with something stronger.

Later in the day, I prefer the Limited Edition Guatemala or the Hazelnut Light Roast.

Ecuador French Roast 😋😋😋

Hello.

I started with the sample pack and began with the mildest first and then went up. I was pretty certain Crio Bru wouldn't be for me but the health attributes over coffee kept drawing me back. The "cup full of hot cocoa" I kept tasting wasn't so good for me so I texted the company and asked what I strongest brew was. I ordered the Ecuador French Roast and I haven't looked back. This is perfect for me. I will tell you that I brew an obscene ratio of this product to water but I love the end result so much that it doesn't concern me anymore. I buy the 5 pound bag, use it up pretty quickly because of how strong I enjoy it but I'm paying for it so I can brew it however I like. I drink mine black. It does cool off very quickly but instead of lingering over a cup I've learned to drink it more quickly. I recommend this brew over ice because it's a cool treat, too.

Well, you'll have to excuse me because my pot has just been brewed so I'm going to enjoy my first cup of the day.

Do not fear the French Roast

Maybe it's just me, but I was hesitant to buy the French Roast variety. This is because I hate French Roast coffee; to me, most French Roast coffee just tastes like ashes. If you hate French Roast coffee, you might still love French Roast Crio Bru.

The first variety I tried was the Ecuador Light Roast, and it was delicious. I was afraid to try the French Roast. But I did try the French Roast, and it is even better. (I tried both the Ghana and the Ecuador. Both are amazing. The difference in flavor is as described; the Ghana variety is more "earthy" and the Ecuador is more "floral". A blend of the two would be nice.)

I haven't tried all the brewing methods, but between a pour over coffee maker and a traditional electric drip coffee maker with a warmer plate, I prefer the latter (though I prefer the former for coffee). This is because the brew time is slower, and without a warmer plate, the beverage can cool considerably during brewing.

(One warning: There can be too much of a good thing. If Crio Bru is brewed too strong, the bitterness and acidity can overpower the flavor. But when brewed to the correct strength, it is very flavorful without much bitterness or acidic flavor.)

Great with Oat Milk!

My first try at this was a total failure - and I put it away for a month till my son raved about it. I pulled it out and instead of doing a pour-over (I should have known better) I did it as instructed with boiling water in a French Press. WOW - it is now rapidly replacing my coffee as my go-to drink. I love it with the Oak Milk from Aldi's.
