IT'S NOT COFFEE | IT'S CACAO: Roasted, ground, and brewed like coffee, Crio Bru Brewed Cacao has flavor and aroma of unsweetened pure dark chocolate. Instead of coffee bean grounds, it's 100% pure ground cacao.
Crio Bru Brewed Cacao has the flavor of 100% pure unsweetened pure dark chocolate. While similar in some respects to coffee, most characterize the taste experience as wonderfully distinctive.
Crio Bru Brewed Cacao is made any way that traditional coffee is brewed. You can brew it in a French Press, coffee machine (gold tone or mesh filter- no paper filters), pour over, etc. Keurig and Espresso machines are among the few options we don't recommend using.
You can also mix our grounds with your coffee grounds before brewing and make a delicious mocha. If desired you can also add your favorite creamer or sweetener. See our brewing guide for more information.
Crio Bru Brewed Cacao is 99.99% caffeine free with 10 mg caffeine per 8 oz cup (similar to a cup of decaf coffee). Brewed Cacao also has theobromine, a naturally occurring stimulant found in cacao that can be longer lasting, milder, and more pleasant than caffeine.

I really love this product and initially signed up for the Subscribe & Save, expecting to get the best possible deal on a recurring basis—only to find out it’s actually not the best value. Crio Bru sends multiple 20% discount coupons each month, but these can’t be used on Subscribe & Save orders, which only get a 5% discount. This creates a disconnect with loyal customers who want to support your brand consistently but feel penalized for doing so.
As a startup, converting customers to recurring revenue through subscription models is a powerful growth strategy. Investors love the predictability and loyalty that comes with this model, but it only works if customers feel like they’re getting value from the subscription. Offering 20% off coupons on one-time purchases while limiting the subscription discount to 5% sends the opposite message—it discourages subscriptions in favor of waiting for discounts. This approach doesn’t cultivate the loyalty needed for sustainable growth, especially in a market where customers have plenty of alternatives.
A stronger strategy would be to make subscribers feel valued and rewarded. For instance, you could build loyalty by increasing the Subscribe & Save discount over time—start with 5%, then increase it for long-term subscribers up to 25%. This way, you’d reward the behavior that directly supports your growth objectives: consistent, recurring revenue from loyal customers.

I've never been a coffee drinker because the bitter after taste was always unpleasant but I love dark chocolate. This is a game changer for those that don't like coffee, can't drink it, or don't like the the over processed and sugary cocoa drinks out on the market. It's not like cocoa at all, it's a gourmet experience beyond! While I did have a small issue with a delaying shipment, they more than made up for it by send an extra bag pictured. (Which was incredible as well and I'm not wishing anyone bad luck with an order, but everyone should receive an apology like this one!
