I purchased this stainless steel 34oz press several years ago and loved it. The glass finally broke (through misuse - no hard feelings there) and I decided to replace it with exactly the same thing.

Except it’s not. I purchased on 2/25/25 and received a 32oz press with mostly plastic parts. (I don’t care much about the 34 vs 32 oz, but it is different.) The black parts in my attached picture are plastic, all the shiny silver parts (except the screen and center shaft) are plastic. The base wobbles. The construction is much cheaper and after using for two months, I can say it doesn’t strain as well and isn’t as easy to clean.

As of writing this (5/2/25) the website still shows pictures of the older, better, stainless steel model, and the description still says 34oz and “made with the very best materials - the press is made with high grade stainless steel…” This is no longer true. The plastic one I received isn’t BAD… it’s just not as described, and not worth the price being charged.

.......I really wish is had measurement marks (graduations) on the glass. Other than that, no issues. Easy to clean.

The French Press has really worked well for me in brewing my Crio Bru. I tried using a coffee machine and it did not work as well. The Press is very simple to use and to clean. I am glad I purchased one.

Works better than my old one!

I was initially very happy with the construction of this press with a few exceptions. The best part of the press is the (so far) stainless steel metal housing which holds the glass. Other parts are plastic, and the screen is not reinforced in the center. My press did not make it a year before the glass cracked at the bottom. Based on other reviews, I'll not waste time trying to obtain a replacement. Meanwhile, I have reverted back to a much older, more reliable press. I'll be keeping this one for parts only.
